Giá trị xuất khẩu (XK) cá ngừ sang thị trường này của Việt Nam đạt gần 2,3 triệu USD, tăng 38% so với cùng kỳ năm 2022.
Sản lượng đánh bắt của đội tàu trong nước giảm đang khiến Nhật Bản phải gia tăng NK cá ngừ tươi và đông lạnh từ các nước, trong đó có Việt Nam. Hơn thế nữa, trong giai đoạn đầu năm 2023, các ưu đãi thuế quan theo thỏa thuận mà Nhật Bản dành cho Việt Nam trong Hiệp đối Đối tác Toàn diện và Tiến bộ xuyên Thái Bình Dương (CPTPP) được khởi động lại đang tạo sức hút cho các sản phẩm cá ngừ của Việt Nam.
Năm nay, Nhật Bản tăng NK các sản phẩm cá ngừ tươi, đông lạnh và khô của Việt Nam so với cùng kỳ, trong khi đó lại giảm NK các sản phẩm cá ngừ chế biến và đóng hộp. Giá trị XK các sản phẩm thịt/loin cá ngừ của Việt Nam đang chiếm tỷ trọng cao nhất 52% trong tổng giá trị XK cá ngừ sang thị trường này. So với cùng kỳ, XK nhóm sản phẩm này tăng 162%. Trong đó, Việt Nam chủ yếu là loin cá ngừ vây vàng đông lạnh sang thị trường Nhật Bản.
Giá C&F trung bình XK các sản phẩm loin cá ngừ vây vàng đông lạnh của Việt Nam sang Nhật Bản trong tháng 1/2023 ở mức 7.699 USD/tấn, còn giá CFR ở mức 7.994 USD/tấn.
Trong số các công ty tham gia XK sang thị trường Nhật Bản, An Hai Fishery, FoodTech và Mariso Viet Nam đang dẫn đầu XK cá ngừ sang thị trường này trong tháng 1, với tỷ trọng chiếm trên 68% tổng giá trị XK.
